ARISE is involved in implementing community based programs and humanitarian activities targeting the most vulnerable communities. ARISE works to promote healthy and productive life through improved hygiene, nutritional status, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, malaria, reproductive health, family planning, maternal health, immunization, water and sanitation. Other activities include promoting vocational training specially to orphans and vulnerable children, girl child education, creating sustainable income generation activities for youth, women and the elderly, promote agriculture and natural resource management including promotion of good governance and respect for human rights and the rule of law.

In the implementation of different projects, ARISE prioritizes community participatory development approaches. This is done in a bid to ensure community ownership of the project(s) under implementation as well as to empower communities for sustainability purposes.
